do you guys go to muscle failure? like where you cant do another rep at all? i have been doing that for every exercise and every muscle group because i have heard that you must "rip" the muscles up by going to failure and that is where they grow. how would muscles grow if you didnt take them to failure and dont cause microscopic tears? i know that they do grow even if you dont go to failure but how does the process work?

i as well would like to hear an intelligent answer to this question

you don't have to go to failure to tear them. going to failure just takes longer to recover. note that the term 'going to failure' can mean different things to people. it can mean progressive resistance on a heavy low rep set. It can also mean high rep range like pre exhaustion. failure is one of the body's mechanisms to prevent injury. it is not necessary for growth. yes, I visit MT.
