I have an iRiver mp3 player. It's wonderful BECAUSE it has an accesory cord that can plug into cd players, computers, where you can upload music for free. You can't then copy the music from your mp3 player to CD. The cord has ends like headphones, the standard plug. I plug it into my computer's headphone set and hit record. They're $60 and up. WONDERFUL! My friend has an iPod and she has offered to trade!! Check it out.

Is the can't supposed to be can?

That is a good mp3 player. You could prolly fit about 500 songs on there if you convert them to 64kps WMA.

Dale, I saw you disliked the ipod nano, is that correct? A friend of mine told me I should exchange it for that because it's "cooler" and has a color screen..

I don't really care if it's color, but the creative labs one has a really small screen.

Are you deaf? That would be the only reason I could figure that you would need a screen on a music player. ;)

I didn't like the Ipod Nano because

1)Cannot use WMA files. I have alot of Dave Matthews songs and in the apple and mp3 format they take up too much space.

2)Seemed very fragile.

3)I could see problems with the dial coming up, it was very sensitive.

4)Short-term battery life. They say it lasts 14 hours, I got less than 10 out of it the 3 times I used it before returning it. I imagine it would be down to 5 hours within a year, which brings me to...

5)You cannot replace the battery. You cannot send it in to get a new battery. When the battery dies, the player is dead. So, you need to buy the $85 apple protection plan which lasts 2 years. If you don't buy the plan and the battery won't hold a charge, you are fucked. A buddy of mine said that battery will conk out before 2 years is up, especially if you use it on a daily basis.

I bought the 4gb model and only got 680 songs on it. I currently have 200 songs on my 512mb WMA supported player with 20mb left. I have to admit it sounded out-fucking-standing, but I can't see paying so much for only a 2 year investment that holds about half the songs I can get on a similar WMA compatible player. People get Ipods because they are popular and their friends have them.
