Mederma and Vit E oil.

Biceps and chest (armpit) area from many moons ago.

Stretch marks are caused when the skin is stretched to the point of breaking down, similar to elastic losing its' elasticity. Losing collagen and elastin in the skin causes stretch marks, loss of tone, fine lines and wrinkles. When there is a breakdown or loss of elastin and collagen fibers or excessive stretching in the skin, the mark actually shows through to the epidermis (top layer of skin).

Stretch marks can also result from nutritional deficiency. Be sure to consume foods that promote skin health:
-Zinc-rich foods such as nuts or fish
-Foods high in vitamins A, C, D, such as carrots, citrus fruits and milk.
-Protein-rich foods (such as eggs).

Although they're more common in girls, guys can get stretch marks, too. Guys and girls who are bodybuilders are more prone to getting them because of the rapid body changes that body building can produce. Obesity can also lead to stretch marks. Stretch marks are also more likely to occur if a person uses steroid-containing (such as hydrocortisone) creams or ointments on their skin for a long time (more than a few weeks).

Preventative OTC treatments only work for some people. A dermatologist may be able to use Surgical Methods such as Dermabrasion or a chemical peel to remove stretch marks.

I consider mine badges of honor. I worked hard for each one and damn well earned them :thumb:

Supposedly it is also worse in leaner people who lift, due to skin weakness.

yeah i have them under my lower back, got them from all the squats, lol. Oh well, i got the nice glutes now in return

Yup I have em on my armpits and my biceps, I don't like em either, but I can live with them if it means I'm getting bigger.

Hi nR. I say be proud of them and that you have them - sure shows your effort at working to be much better. If they really bother you that much though there are ways to help take care of them. Take Care, John H.

More importantly, racing stripes.

what foods can i take that have zinc because i HATE stretch marks, before i only had them on my right bicep/armpit, now a little bit of the left bicep is also showing... can you please tell me what i can do to stop them.? thanks

that's all you need....besides getting some topicals to help them fade, which time does but a lot slower.

Is it normal for people not on steroids to get stretch marks? my skin seems to stretch adequately
