Just wanted to say hello. I've been lurking on this site for a few weeks and found a lot of very useful information. Thanks! A lit about me... Sash is here :) I'm 5'4', 148lbs. I struggled all my life to get rid of "last" 10-15 pounds that never seems to come off :pissed: Reading your site and some others it was an eye opener re dieting and training. I really started from a scratch 3 weeks ago: signed up with a gym and trying to clean up my diet. I do at least 3 times a week strength training and 3x week cardio. Diet is the hardest part for me. I am used to skipping breakfast and sometimes lunch and stuffing myself with dinner with lots of coffee in between..lol Now I am very determined to turn everything around and get in the best shape I've ever been.
Short-term goal: lose 15 lbs (fat), gain some tone and muscle and implement healthy diet in my every day routine. Well, I need to stop rambling. :blah: Thanks again for such an informative site!
Cheers :wave2:

Hi Sash! Welcome! IM is a great place. There are some really smart people on here. You'll learn a lot on your way to reaching your goal! :thumb:

Welcome aboard and before any workout program it would be advisible to get a full check up and blood profile (mainly thyroid) tsh, free t-3, free t-4 are a must and results need to be in upper 75% quadrant (NOT IN THE RANGE SO TO SPEAK) for females to function properly. I battles drs for a year about this and I finally won. If your thyroid is lacking then it will put a damper on alot of things. Me and several other people have fallen pray to this, but once we got it regulated weight started coming off almost over night.

Thanks for warm welcome :)
hardasnails, I will definately follow your advice and do blood profile on thyroid on my next annual checkup (what year is this? :bulb: :D ). The last time I did it (several years ago) it seemed fine.. but you never know... Thanks again

Welcome!!!
