After recovering from taking classes along with two jobs this past semester, I decided to take more care of my personal fitness and nutrition for my final semester (Graduating with degrees in Business Information Technology and Management this May).
I'm 21 years old, weigh 163 lbs and am 6 feet tall. Through a Taylor body fat scale (I know their accuracy can be suspect...but hey, it was cheap), my body fat is about 12.5%.
As far as athletic background, I ran cross country, and both indoor and outdoor track in high school, running long distance events for the most part. I used to play team basketball, but haven't in several years. I'm hoping to play club 3 on 3 basketball with some friends this spring.
I started to get serious about weightlifting and my diet about a month ago. I cut down my alcohol consumption from about 4-5 drinks a week to about 1 drink every week or two which has given me some more money to put toward real food! The only supplements I take are a multivitamin and protein. So far, I've put on 8 lbs while keeping my body fat percentage stable.
I feel a lot more energetic since I have started. I'm hoping that I can sustain these gains in the future to get an optimum body weight of about 185 to 190 at about 9-10% body fat in the next year.
