Just want to introduce myself,

I'm 33 and have always gone about the gym alone (not that I'm anti-social) with no help. There was a point where I was tipping the scales at 320 lbs, not a nice place to be. Long story short I woke up one day filled with motivation even though it was driven by anger and dropped down to 185 lbs inside of 10 months. Since then I have had my highs on lows but never coming close to the morbidly obese 320 lbs I once was, at worse I never went over 220 lbs which is what I currently weigh. I used to go to the gym by myself because as difficult as it may sound, finding a gym partner that is willing to come with you consistently is next to impossible. Even when I dropped down to 185 lbs I was never totally happy, deep down inside I always wanted to look like a body builder. Yes it's easier said than done, and I'm not the first nor the last guy whose come on to a board and say I wanna look jacked. Motivation or dedication for me has never been a problem, but it feels 10x harder when your doing things alone with no partner let alone with the right knowledge or guidance. I can honestly say I have no morality issues with taking steroids but no one at the gym I used to go to seemed or wanted to look jacked. So just imagine how awkward it would have been if I brought the subject up. I hope you guys can help me gain the right knowledge to reach my goals. Any help, tips, or advice is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the board.

Welcome to the forums and thanks for sharing your story. I think you need to get on a weight training program that involves a lot of HIIT Training for cardio fat loss. This would be your best bet in losing the weight. What does your diet look like currently? I think you should try to figure out your macros and start there and follow them to the T. I also think you should supplement your protein with a shake or two per day. What type of protein are you using currently?

My diet is currently out of whack, and seeing how I'm not in gym mode right now I'm not taking any shakes or supplements. I basically want to start with a clean slate but start off the right way. As I said before I'm new and don't want to get flamed for not knowing what are my macros. I tried googling it and it kept taking me to all kinds of computer related sites.

There are plenty of ways to track your macros bro the easiest way to do it is by using MyFitnessPal. ITs an app that is compatible with android and iphone and maybe blackberry too. Let me know if you have any trouble with the site it works really well for me and I love it. Good luck on your training and diet.
