Hi all!

My name is Liz and I am new here... obviously!

I am from England, I'm currently an exercise phys student and I'm looking to come to the states for a MS in exercise phys. I am 5'3 and about 127 pounds and currently trying to reset my metabolism and get myself in check...

I was a coxswain for 12 years. For any of you who don't know what that is, I am a small person who steers a rowing boat, provides motivations, makes key decisions and basically is the brain of the boat. Last year I was selected to represent Great Britain but was told I was too heavy and had 4 months to make it to 110 or they would take the lighter but not as able girl.

So being th highly competitive person I am I totally starved myself and made the weight. I was pretty much depressed, freezing cold, antisocial and totally frightened of food.

I have since retired... its probably better for me to find some balance in my life now. I have been doing a full body lifting rouitne three times a week and slowly upping my calories. I went from about 1000 to 1600 and this week have moved upto 1800. I am hugely bloated and basically gaining a lot of fat but I'm sticking with it because I would like to repair my metabolism and eventually enter a figure competition. I make it sound relaxed, I'm actually totally depressed about it but I can't really change anything without going back onto a diet!

I know this is a long entry but I thought I'd get it all out here ;)

Can't wait to meet you all, will start a blog tomorrow.... its bedtime in England.

Liz

I am sorry you had to feel that way, I know how physically debilitating it can be to starve yourself, and it is never easy to get things back to the way they need to be! It sounds like you are really motivated though and for many people that is half the battle! I am new here too, but I only have a little bit of experience from my own research and asking questions. Good luck with everything, I am sure you will be feeling back up to speed soon!
