When I got home today the electrical cord for my computer was slightly unplugged. The computer was off, when I turned it on, the screen went black and my monitor went into hybernation mode. The light on my computer was flashing orange.

I can't get back into the regular user screen. I turned it off then back on and the same thing just happened again. I did that a few times. I unplugged it and left it like that for 30 minutes, tried again, no avail.

This has happened to me before. The way I fixed it was playing around with the 'power' options in the properties/screen saver window. I tried that again, didn't work.

Any ideas?

...annnnnnd nevermind, it is fixed.

How did you start this thread if your monitor was not working?

There was never anything wrong with the monitor... he was just fading in and out of consciousness.

What you need is a new johnson rod, fufu.

it should be ok now. rumor has it someone disarmed BigDyl of his evil Johnson Rod Deactivation Gun.

lol, I waited another hour with it unplugged, turned it on, and it did an automatic hard drive check. It was fine after that.
didja freak out?! if this happens again, unplug it, check the switch in the back, plug it back in, then switch it off from the back and turn it back on 30 secs later (from the back). then go to the front and switch it back on.

Yeah, I wasn't sure what was happening, I was hoping my hard drive wasn't saying byebye.
