I have a couple of different calipers to measure bf%; one is the digital fat track II, and the other is the slimgluide by creative health products. The slimguide is like the accumeasure, but more precise. My problem is that I don't know how much to grab when I try to take the measurement. I mean, you could place your fingers 1" apart or you could place them 3" apart, but instructions that I have seen don't specify. I also have a problem figuring out exactly where to grab.
When I think about it, though, it seems like it doesn't matter how much you grab, so long as you pull it off your muscle, it will be the same. Is this correct, or is there a certain amount you grab?
Also, I guesstimate that I am around 18% bodyfat. A bodyfat calculation estimate that I use also says that I'm around 18%, but my buddy says no way. Could you look at my pic and give me your opinion?
In case you were interested, here's the formula for that bodyfat calculation: LBM = (1.082*Total body weight) - (4.15*Waistline in inches) + 98.42(for males only, I've forgotten the number for females)
I know that this is just a calculation and is probably not accurate.
Thanks for the help!
