Same here. :)

So even if they have some nasty spy-ware on my pc they won't be able to snag my credit card number when I order?

they will!

Who is "they"? If you concerned about spyware, I suggest you scan your computer for that (there was a discussion recently in Open Chat if you do a search).

I do a LOT of online shopping, and have been doing so for about six years. I have not had a single problem with unauthorized purchases or a stolen credit card number. On the other hand, my wife recently had her credit card number stolen by an employee at a retail store. IMO, online shopping is safer than retail shopping or doing it over the phone.

Yup. All signs point to it being a Best Buy, so we have stopped shopping at all of their locations. Sucks for them, because we buy a lot of DVD's.

See, I'm being a tightwad and not buying any legit antivirus, (firewall) stuff. Right now I've got some thing called Avast that I downloaded on a free trial. Some wierd stuff has been happening, like every so often my internet home page changes to this gambling site on it's own. Lycos internet side search has downloaded it's self onto my desktop several times, plus some other program I don't remember what the name of was. I don't have anything very important stored on my pc, so it doesn't bother me too bad. I'm not sure what "they" can see with that kind of access.

down with Best Buy!!
it's all about circuit city.

Correct. In our case, American Express took care of us.

Even if you don't use a credit card, if you want your computer to stay running, you better get virus protection and a firewall to block all that crap that is taking over your computer like you mentioned. Best money you will ever spend, If you don't you will spend lots more repairing it!!

I agree with that 200%...just went through it and now I'm safe and scure with McAfee firewall and anti-virus...those damn porn sites try to put all sorts of crap on your system :D .

Plus now my psycho ex girlfriend can't read my email...

Well, here is the number for VPX anyway...

800-954-7904 or 954-641-0570

Too late smartass! Now I may just give him my personal extension :p

It's ok. I can take it. Turns out I was thinking of a site that has vpx products at a lower cost. The address wasn't vpx. Crap, did I just set myself up again? Anyway, I didn't see any #'s.

Also, it turns out that "they" are gaining access to my pc through a trojan virus in my windows start program.

YIKES!!! You need some serious protection dude!!!

yep, if I get norton will it be able to repair the damage or do you think I will need to re-install?

Try the Norton repair tool first...
