Im attempting to down 5000 calories a day, but i find it very hard to make time to prepare all that food! i was wondering if anyone had any ideas or thigns they do to get an extra thousand cals a day? for example, lately ill make a couple wrap-samwiches with a wheat tortilla, lots of turkey, and some cheese. its easy to make and has like 200-300 cals depending on how much of what i put on it. ive also started to drink a lot more milk because its pretty easy to down cals there.. so anyone have any similair ideas? thanks so much!

Add 2 cups of milk and a tablespoon of flax oil to your meals.

ya.. im downing about a gallon of milk a day. i dont take weight gainers, because i just dont like all that sugar at once. makes me sick, and i dont think they are all that healthy.. i was making my own in a blender with oats peanut butter honey and whey, but i quit taking whey too. i opt to get get all my stuff from whole foods, but its a lot harder to get as many calories that way..

Throw in whole frozen pizzas, whole boxes of Mac and Cheese, boxes of Rice'a'Roni, Poptarts with PB in between them, bananas slathered in PB....

It's easiest to pump up your calories with fat sources. Don't be afraid. There is nothing wrong with a high fat diet. Personally, I have been eating high fat for quite a while (About 1/3 of my calories come from fat). I think it's a great way to pump up your calories without screwing around with insulin levels too much.

Peanut butter/peanuts, other nuts/butters, olive oil, safflower oil, fish oil, flaxseed, hempseed oil, etc. All of these can go in shakes, be added to salads, or used in some other creative way.

Oats also work quite well. They are pretty calorie dense for a carb source. Of course, you can only down so many oats. Other good carb sources include brown rice, chana dal, barley, yams, and sweet potatoes.
