seeds are more a fat source than protein. The protein is a bonus.

Tuna or chicken straight from the can is pure protein and little to no fat (especially tuna).

Make your own jerky....buy a dehydrator (they're cheap) or just slice a roast and dry it on low heat in the oven. That way you control everything.... especially the sugar (which is the worst part of a lot of jerkies).

You don't have to use beef, it can be any meat.... salmon, turkey, chicken, etc...
It's pretty easy to do actually and will save you dollars.

Dude, canned tuna or chicken is rediculously high in sodium.

HOWEVER, at railway market I have found canned tuna that has 60% less sodium. Also canned salmon with 80% less sodium.

No doubt, it can be. All depends on the info on the can. Put it in context also. If the rest of your diet is low salt for the day (nothing added, all natural)....then the salt in the canned meat won't be much of an issue, especially if you live in humid climates or do depleting cardio etc...

I do get where you're coming from though ;)

:hmmm: You guys shouldn't be snacking. You should be eating 6 meals a day which would leave no room for snacking.

beef jerky isn't too bad besides the sodium. It's high in protein.
