How long do you wait after your last meal to go to sleep?

I was wondering how close to going to bed you should eat to gain clean muscle
 
I sleep around 5-5:30 in the afternoon and have a snack like 20-30 minutes before. It would be better if you waited longer so you food would digest first but I'm always to sleepy.
 
I say eat whatever the hell you want. You never know if you're going to wake up. Mine as well enjoy your last meal...
 
Approx. 3 hours every night. Assuming I get to sleep when I had planned, which is easier said than done
 
According to Matt Furey you shouldnt eat 2 hours before bed because your body's too busy digesting the food to release the growth hormones or something like that. Not sure if there's any science to back taht up though.

Any thoughts?
 
Don't know about the science, my last meal is 2 hours before bed. As long as your within your daily calorie range, it shouldn't matter to much.
 
Don't care, makes no difference on weight loss or gain.

Dr. Andrea Pennington did a seminar at the last gym I worked at and said something along those lines as well. Basically, her reasoning is that insulin release at during sleep will interfere with growth hormone release as your body favors insulin over IGF-1, which is a precursor to growth hormone release. (Hopefully I remembered this correctly and am not doing her injustice)

So, I raised my hand and asked a question regarding a bedtime meal consisting of only protein and healthy fats. I explained that the person in question would have to be resistance training to the point where their body could utilize the protein primarily for muscle repair, and wouldn't have to resort to gluconeogenesis, and therefore insulin levels should be relatively unaffected. I also made sure to explain that the protein consisted of casein, which would slowly release into the bloodstream, especially in the presence of the fat. This should also help control insulin levels. She seemed to think this was reasonable if the person was in a phase of lifting where they were pushing themselves hard enough that their body definitely utilized that protein before converting it to glucose.

With that said, I eat cottage cheese and peanut butter usually around 60-90 before I goto sleep, but sometimes as short as 20-30 minutes before hand if I must.

I just pounded some cottage cheese about 15-20 minute before I went to bed last night.
 
I have 1 cup of cottage cheese + 1tbsp or less of natty pb + 3 caps of fish oil about 5-15 mins before bed.. I hope thats ok..
 
i dont really care either

i just drink a glass of nonfat milk sometimes.
 
Depends on the size of the meal and how I feel afterwards...

I usually go to bed 45min to 1 hour afterwards.

Typically my last meal is nonfat yogurt with berries and a handful of cheerios or shredded wheat or almonds OR cottage cheese with peanut butter or with fruit.
