I have read in some of the posts that after lifting and or cardio your body continues to burn calories from that workout hours after.

I know everyone is different but after a workout on the tread machine lets say 25 min at 6 speed and the machine says calories burned is usually about 250. How many more calories are burned after a 25min cardio workout, and how many calories are burned after a 1 hour work out from lifting weights. For the weights lets say its chest day, 4 exercises 4 sets of 15 reps.

I know this question will be hard because everyone is diffrent but somebody has to know in general how many calories are burned post workout from that workout.

I would not say hours, and since calories burned during cardio is negligable anyway, I hardly see why bothering trying to do the math. I suppose I could be viewed as lazy though, but I just would prefer to make adjustments here or there.

The harder the workout and involving as many bodyparts as possible, the longer the metabolism will be jogged, in theory. You can also eat hot peppers if you like.

6MPH on the treadmill? What is "6," 6 on one machine may be 12 on another.

Nothing in life is free man! Even cardio is hardly anything caloric expenditure wise in terms of actually losing pounds of fat.

500 calories of cardio 7 days a week would be a pound of fat... not too bad imo...

True, it takes awhile to burn those 500 calories - but we can presume quite naturally that we are not looking at even half that amount in "free burn."

Its like the "drink ice water to lose weight" thing, wow lose a pound a quarter for free, by drinking 10 degree water all day.

just because you burn an extra 3500 calories does not necessitate that it will be fat that is burned!
