How many times do you go to the theatre per year?

I go around 3 times a year.

The only movie I wanted to see in a theater was 300, but I wanted to see it at an IMAX. The IMAX here in Austin had some kid's movie and would't put on 300. I'dda hadda drive to fricking San Antonio ... not.

I did go to the theater to see Stomp. They were fuggin awesome, but I like my home theater viewing so I can do what I want instead of dealing with the lines and w/e. Now that we can download all the stuff in HD who needs the theater?

I think we go in spurts. Right now I haven't been in a month or two, last saw Knocked Up. But other times we'll go see 3 a month.

zero

Last movie I saw in the theatre was Ocean's 13, dragged by friends. It wasn't bad but I wouldn't give a shit if I never saw it.

I can't remember the last good movie that I saw in the theatre that was worth seeing. Half the time I go is because friends want me to.

There are only a select few movies that I ever want to see and most of the time they are comedy or other stories that are brought to the big screen (comics, cartoons like transformers, etc). I couldn't care less about the latest "make you think movie" or any movie ever nominated for "Best Picture." The "make you think" movies usually suck ass IMO because I'm pointing out the continuity flaws and "why that couldn't really happen" during the whole thing. Just give me Grandma's Boy or Beerfest or even Anchorman and I'm happy.

No. I sit on the microwave at night after OddGirl goes to sleep.
:roflmao: it's kinda f'd up that the ones who should reproduce don't ... but the ones who should be sterilized before menstruation just can't keep their asses outta the damn maternity ward.

I go about 5-6 times a year. Defiantly can't wait for Bourne Ultimatum this Friday.

I figure when my swimmers hit the pool it looks like water polo at the special olympics.

last one i went to was 1408. it was the shit :rocker:

I went in saw 300 in the IMAX thats the last time, so once or twice a year maybe

I like to go after the hype drops. I like the seat next to be m t . People smell, make sounds and make sounds that smell.

I only go if my friends really want me to go. The way it works is that i will constantly decline the offer over and over until at least one of them gets fed up and offers to pay for my ticket. Instead of immediately agreeing, i will test them again and be like "Are you sure?" and once my friend hands the money over i'm all set. It's important not to get "screwed over" if a friend later tells you at the theater that s/he only said that to make me come.

Call me an asshole if you want but i don't like spending a lot of money on this stuff when i can watch it for free online or until a friend buys the DVD and then i can just borrow it. I'm evil.

Jeez when I saw theatre I thought you meant Les Miserables, Phathom of the Opera, or some jazz like that.

Ouch that actually hurt. Buffalo to be an upgrade.

Shit the only people that would notice an upgrade when going to Buffalo is people from a 3rd world country.

Hmmmm........geez. That last movie I went to see was Fracture with Pfunk, Ivonne and Dante I think. :hmmm:

Last movie I watched at a theatre was Saw III and before that, I don't have a fucking clue.

I went once this year so far. Almost went to see transformers but then I didn't feel like going.

I've gone a few times this month. I usually only go if someone pays for me haha

I used to go about twice a month. Movies were a pleasure for me. I just enjoy watching movies. Right now, I'm working my way through the AFI Top 100 Movies list.

But! Now that the theaters have decided to shit on me, I go about once every two or three months.

Now they force feed me 10-15 trailers and 3-6 commercials for consumer products! Taking up to 30 fucking minutes! Hell no!

They want to treat me like shit, then I won't go anywhere near as often. Now I just wait for the DVD or download the movie.

When they feel like treating me like a valued customer, and not a cash cow, then I may start watching more movies in the theaters.

I'm with Witchblade. I like watching movies and if I think one is pretty decent I'll go see it in the theater. In wichita we have a bar and grill theater. Ask for a menu and get a "I'm over 21" wrist band and you're all set. The seats are about 25% wider than your average theater seat, and there's about 3.5' of leg space in front of you because the waiters/waitresses walk in front of you.

It's great if I don't want to worry about scheduling a movie around my dinner time, they have health conscious items on the menu so I just head there and eat before or during the movie right there in my seat. If it's sunday I'll have a beer or two.. can't go wrong there.

Im with the last 2 entries..

Though I thought this thread was about watching plays..

I go 1-2 times a week. I dont see how people dont in this town. What else is there to do? Ill go crazy if I sit at home 7 days a week (thats if I dont go out to restuarants/bars...which are more expensive than movies)

Of course, going to do something I woudl do at home (sitting in front of the TV) doesnt really constitute 'doing something,' but I think it depends on the individual. For instance, the only time I would agree with that statement is if I went to someones hosue to watch a dvd. Then I feel like "I could be doing this at home...why not do something else?"

In any case, there have been times that Ive rented a movie and thought about how good it would have been to watch the movie in a theater.

<~~Movie Buff.
