How much do you spend per month on training?
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Gym fees, food, supplements, other

I work at a training studio, so I don't pay for a membership there.

I spend about $600 a month on groceries for 3 people, and that's at Whole Foods (Rapeage pricing). That's further supplemented a bit by my dad with the occasional extra dinner supplies. Hard to quantify the difference between what I would consume if my activity levels were lower and what I take in now. There is a significant difference though, no question.

Supplements are fairly cheap. I buy a 120 pill multivitamin (1 each day) for like $10 once every few months, 100 pill fish oil caps (4 each day) at about $10 a bottle, and 5 pound tubs of whey that last a little under a month for about $20.

you guys have got it good when it comes to supplement pricing.

In Aust, we pay $80 (around $64 US) for 2lb whey. $30 ($24 US) for 90 quality multi and same for fish oil/flax.

Groceries stack up the same.

Gym membership is about $60 per month ($50US).

food: dunno but a bit...i am currently bulking

Do you know anyone in the States? Maybe you can have someone ship stuff over to you.

Cost me a few thousand to set up a nice home gym over the past few years. No monthly cost there now that I have it the way I like it now, though. I use whey protein so that costs me a bit per month, but not too much in the grand scheme. I'd say my training currently costs me well under 20 bucks a month!

My training cost me about 8 bucks so far.

I train at home with a bench and weights that I found in my garage (my uncles), I bought 4 5lb buckets of whey for 8 dollars about 2 months ago and I am still on my first one, and I eat the food my mom buys.

Are you buying whey hydrolysate? That is a lot more expensive, and the pricing is a bit closer to what you quoted. It's optimal post workout, but I don't have the cash for the minor difference that it might make.

I order online also. I get my stuff from AllTheWhey. I don't know for sure if they ship internationally, but you should check them out.

"we pay $80 (around $64 US) for 2lb whey"?????

I thought I was being ripped off here..... (it's a good brand) at 77??? ( 98$ US) for 5kgs/11 lbs

A tin (can) of tuna works out at: ???0.53 / US$ 0.67

500g of creatine : ???45 / US$ 57

I buy a local manufactured product called MAX's which is a combination of instantised WPI, Pre-digested WPI & Hydrolised WPI. It also has taurine and glutamine peptides which makes it a PW protein.

Have considered buing online at other sites but the postage is a killer. Ill have a look at allthewhey - thanks.

I spend very little on supplements in a month since I figure that for the most part food is all you need.

The training part of it has all been paid for as I work outa my garage.

Food wise I think I spend around 300 bucks a month. So all and all not to bad.

I just wanted to add that I also purchase dextrose powder for my PWO shake. I go through a little under a pound each week, but the stuff is only like $1 a pound.

I do not spend money on training or supps, I eat what I got in the fridge and couldnt care less what my parents pay for it

Gym fee: $37 per month (price went up this year)
Food: ~$300-$400 per month... Mostly just for me (when bulking)
Supplements: ~$60-80 per month (creatine, whey, vitamins, fish oils, MSM, glucosamine etc.)

Total: ~$457 per month + the time it takes to actually train, and eat.

Sorry to dissapoint you  ... I wasn't aware using creatine and whey made one unnatural (they are natural ingredients, creatine is found in red meat, whey is extracted from milk), but that's another debate. In my opinion, it's no more unnatural than taking vitamins. Taking capsuled vitamins is just another way to get the vitamins that are found in food as well.

no man it aint even like that but i thought u was supplement free

You're going to be hard pressed to find many lifters who don't use whey on this site, heh.

Gym Fees: $0.00 (Home Gym)
Fish Oil: $3.00 per month
Multivitamin: $3.00 per month
ON Whey: $30.00 per month
Food: No clue - my wife buys it every week for 6 of us. I just eat it. :thumb:

blueboy75- Check out myopure.com.au... WPI for $36 a kilo, next day delivery. It's the shit.

I just spent a hundred bucks at the nutrition store...that's just protein (one month's supply) and xpand...(creatine, also one month)

Add in my gym membership and tanning package...(yes tanning package, gotta be dark to do a show right??)

Don't even want to think about food....

Then the occasional anabolics cycle....500+

I spend a ton of money on my training...but it's very important to me...possibly the most important thing in my life ever, at times it's all I have.
