How much money did you have saved from you working by the time you started high school ( 13 or 14 years old)...we are not talking about family money handouts here, we are talking about jobs outside the family you got on your own and saved.

I vote 0, I spent 90% of my inflow on pot.

I'm pretty sure the majority of people would say $0. Not too many 12 and under kids work or save their money. What are you trying to get out of this poll anyways? Trying to compare how much you saved versus how much everyone else saved?

Does it really matter? We're all way past our childhood years so what's the relevance?

Not being an asshole here, just asking questions.

I had a job when I was 12. I also had a pot spoking habit when I was 13.

Really? Where did you work? Working for any one of your family members or simply just cutting the grass and taking the trash out doesn't really count.

Thats cool, I was just wondering because of age I guess. The kids I knew all saved money back in the early 80's, I just was wondering if kids still do or if they still work that young and have been taught the value of saving.

Taught the value of saving? Come on now foreman, with today's technology such as video game consoles, cell phones, computers, and so forth, nobody is going to be working. They are all fat Americans who throw tantrums and get their clueless parents to buy them whatever they want. I wish today's world was like back in the 80's when everyone was outside playing all day until they were called in for dinner and then go back out and play again.

I had a four-wheeler, a trailer, and a lawn mower, I really don't see how cutting yards isn't considered a job, especially when many people have made a career out of it.
During the summer, I could easily take in $100.00 or more a week. If you take into consideration that I didn???t have bills, rent, tuition, and insurance back then, I technically had more net inflow then, than I do now.

Every generation has it's distractions and every generation bitches about the one before it......so I think it is a valid question. ;)

0...I'm living paycheck to paycheck, paying off debt I racked up. I'm looking to buy my first home now, and paying the PMI will be the cost of not saving.

Oh well.. live & learn.

save? Oh you mean like how I saved my video game on level 9 because there was about to be a boss level

or saved the porn on my computer

Back in the 80's when I was a kid we didn't have any clothes, or money to buy clothes, so we used to save rocks... Then when they finally built the first school, we made uniforms from buckskin and tree bark, and had to walk 30 miles to the schoolhouse, uphill, both ways, through the thumbtack fields, barefoot... We used to love to walk in winter when the snow would get thick enough to freeze our feet and cover the thumbtacks... Then when times got tough, we would have to boil our treebark pants in water, after the whole family bathed together in the water, then we would eat the boiled bark for dinner... But, I always saved some dried bark and rocks and even thumbtacks, because I knew someday, that I would have to sell them to support my family, till they were strong enough, then I could sell my family... Because thats the way we were taught
