just leaves me with many questions
why are they so sure it was the syrian government
why is it the problem of the US when this is clearly the UN's problem
with all the anti russia and anti north korea bullshit, how many wars does out government think we need to be involved in

I most definitely think we should take care of our vets and own citizens BEFORE helping anyone else in another country... to me that is just common fucking sense.

uh huh...only theres a bazillion vet programs in place already, both via the va and private non profits

and repubs love wars- theyre great for the economy- I know you got that memo

Trumps quote on the attack

"Yesterday's chemical attack, a chemical attack that was so horrific in Syria against innocent people, including women, small children and even beautiful little babies, their deaths were an affront to humanity," Trump said from the Rose Garden. "These heinous actions by the Assad regime cannot be tolerated. The United States stands with our allies across the globe to condemn this horrific attack and all other horrific attacks, for that matter."

Tillerson's quote on the matter-

Rex Tillerson, Trump's Secretary of State, told reporters Wednesday that there was "no doubt in our mind that the Syrian regime under the leadership of Bashar Assad is responsible for these horrific attacks." He called on Russia to "really think carefully" about their continued support for Assad's regime in Syria.

I wonder who still thinks Putin is a swell guy?

I have no idea why nigeria is consistently ignored- I genuinely don't

and for the record- I think north korea needs to be leveled

"U.S. military forces have been at war for all eight years of Obama?s tenure, the first two-term president with that distinction. He launched airstrikes or military raids in at least seven countries: Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Yemen, Somalia and Pakistan."

I agree with putin, we shouldnt overthrow assad, that region is already and if recent history has taught us anything is if we overthrow a dictator that region will fall into horrible chaos. and isis is knocking at syrias door. if we would have removed assad that place would be part of the isis genocidal rule as well. middle east only respects violent dictators

The problems in the Middle East won't be fixed by U.S. actions. If you give them democracy they will vote for some violent theocratic warlord. It's a pre enlightenment civilization and nothing is going to fix that.

well Trump already open his mouth about assad and the Syrian gas attack that recently happened. saying he crossed many lines. now Trump has to back that up or be just like Obama and lose all respect with every world leader. somethings going to happen, if not trump will look like a fool like Obama did and does. you can't say shit and not back it up. but also I'd like to see concrete proof it was asasd who did it. it could've been the other side to make it look like assad did it.

Obama could never get the votes in congress to go for syria- we'll see if trump can pull off the same

Obama made a huge mistake by withdrawing too rapidly in Iraq- but it was a cry to cut spending
Democracy wasn't well established and neither was their military- withdrawing too promptly (I cant even believe I'm saying this) definitely caused a power vacuum and helped create and embolden ISIS

of course putin doesn't want to overthrow assad- he supplies weaponry through the region via assad ffs

Russia has been on a sanctioned list for US made weaponry for a while now because of it

whatever- Im not a general- but Sarin gas is expressedly forbidden under geneva convention

This was certainly caused by removing Saddam Husain but it didn't matter how long we stayed there. This was going to be an issue. Everyone with half a brain knew how bad going into Iraq was going to be. Here is an article from the onion from 2003. Even they knew it was going to be a huge nightmare.

going into a country without an exit plan, thats the problem

I agree with both of your statements

the US beat a war drum and jumped in - got congress to back it by exploiting an attack on US soil and dubious intelligence

and ps- swiper- my repubs love war comment is not even a swipe at the republicans- its historically been one of their favorite things to spend money on because it absolutely does boost the US economy for a while- right before it bleeds it dry

I most definitely think we should take care of our vets and own citizens BEFORE helping anyone else in another country... to me that is just common fucking sense.

This is how the world should work. We give a hideous amount of money for foreign aid when we've got a massive indigenous health issue. Honestly couldn't give a shit about Africa or Syria.

<insert giant winkfinger here>

Thats a great MSNBC/CNN talking point of Repubs love war! Unfortunately the facts really don't support the claim. WW1 started by Dems =, even used chemical attacks. WW2 started once again by Dems, and lets not forget they decided to liquidate 200000 Japanese in less than 10 minutes with the dropping of 2 bombs. Korea same deal and Vietnam the same. I'd really be interested in your historical information on Repubs love war. Are we going to have to hear all about Dick Chaney and Haliburton? War sucks, and the problem with Dems is they don't know how to fix the problems at home, so they feel a need to go and take care of the worlds issues that don't ask for their help and quite frankly don't need it. When you take care of those at home, you are able to do for those abroad.

Are you seriously suggesting the U.S. shouldn't have gotten involved in WWI and WWII and did so because the Dems couldn't fix the issues at home?

Or better yet that the Dems started WWI and WWII? Your post is confusing and everyone here is now dumber having read it.

No I am not seriously suggesting we not fight in those wars. What I am suggesting is that quite often the left likes to play the war mongering on republicans and there iss no basis for it. And they scream bloody murder anytime there is talk of taking care of business at home vs abroad. That's all that post is meant to say. And if you can't say the dems started WW1 or WW2 which is certainly fair, then you can say the same thing about action taken on 9/11.

tcinbc66- I was in the military dipshit_ I was deployed to Tikrit in 2005, as was my husband who was deployed to fallujah in 2003- my mortgage is literally paid with the development and production of weapons of mass destruction and various soldier systems - and not the fake maybe in a dusty warehouse kind
we were literally both riled up the last two days talking about we could both deploy to syria and kill the shit out of some people

but keep on with your "liberal talking points" crap

Im liberal in so far as- I don't care what people do in their sex lives as long as it isn't harmful to another person (or animal/sick fuckers) -gay/trans- I dont care and I think those people should be afforded the same legal protections everyone else enjoys if they're in a marital/domestic partner arrangement
I think everyone should have a clean earth and clean drinking water
I think everyone (on the planet) should have access to legitimate healthcare - whether that's clinics or insurance- I dont care- use of an emergency room in our country is a massive and I mean MASSIVE missuse of important resources
I don't believe crimes against humanity should go unpunished but I'm realistic about the logistics/expense and do think the US shouldn't be the only "world police"
I would like government to stay out of women's reproductive rights- and no- I don't mean abortion but routine care as well as contraception and if someone is too fucking stupid to realize dicking with abortion laws is a slippery slope into messing with women's reproductive health- well than yeah- you're a dumb ass- I also have 6 daughters (two are step) and had a friend that died at 42 from uterine cancer - that routine paps would have caught well before it got to that point- so its a super prickly subject with me

I hate a fucking prius and would love to know why auto manufacturers can't come up with better fuel economy when europe has been pulling it off for like 20 years
I love some green energy because I'm a tech nerd and close to free energy thrills the penny pincher in me
I think people that eat soy should be shot in the head because its hormonally disruptive and the crops are incredibly bad for the environment
I probably run a chain saw and shoot a gun better than you (and an excavator/backhoe/roll off/motorcycle/have more blue collar experience)

so eat a fat fucking dick

I miss any bullet points guys?

oh- and education- I think people in our country should get as much opportunity for education as reasonable- I dont even care if its free course-ware that counts for something on edx- I think everyone should try to learn something new whenever possible

I like contraception because it helps reduce abortion, and also because it makes it easier for chick to fuck.

If I have to pay to subsidize viagra for limp dick mother fuckers, than they should pay for contraception so girls can put out without hesitation.

I guess I'm a liberal because I'd like to take my kids and grand kids hunting and fishing so the environment is important to me.
