Chronophage (basically a waste of time or time devourer)

Stumbling up the sandstone staircase forced beneath my feet
feel it disentegrate into the mouth of a chronophage
as the back foot begins to lift
the pulverized bits precipitate into
the the swirling vortex beneath
the violent devourment sends strays up over my head
I have taught myself to grab at grains when I can
because I know like the oyster I can make pearls of them
it's only in my dreams that I control it's descent
slow it to a crawl or sprint kicking up a sandstorm

Of late I have been logging visions I have, not hallucinations more like day dreams, waking apparitions, lucid deliriums, et al
