AP - An ice storm slickened roads and sidewalks, grounded hundreds of flights, and cut power to tens of thousands Sunday in a swath from the Southern Plains to the Great Lakes as even colder weather threatened.
It is actually not too bad here right now. Last year there was no power for three weeks. It really sucked. I don't think it will get that bad here this time or, at least, I am hoping. So far, so good.
Thats too bad they can't figure out a way to over load the power lines to get them warm like some kind of temp sensor that sends pulses of over-current conditions from transformer to transformer where the extra heat could get stored for a while, the power would get rectified before it was sent to a customer yet maintain a steady warmth on the lines....
