Just curious, why do refeeds and high protein/low carb, low protein/high card etc days??

Because Cals in vs Cals out is the basis for weight loss only. Body-fat loss depends on macronutrient composition and exercise intensity/duration. The trick is to lose body-fat without losing muscle. Rapid weight loss usually results in major muscle loss, so nice 'n easy does it!

A steady rate of weight loss (not including the first week when glycogen & water depletion occurs) should not exceed ~1lb/week.

Good Stuff!

I understand the cal in vs cal out but not all cals are created equal.
