If it can play video games....I'm there!

Pics?

I don't understand why this is such a huge story. There was similar hype for Google's Chrome browser, and it's used by less than 1%... why does everyone automatically think their OS will rival Windows, which has nearly 90% of the market?

Don't get me wrong, I'm intrigued, but the way this is being blown up as "reginiting the OS war" when we haven't even had a look at it is ridiculous.

I imagine it will be very minimalistic like the browser.....you probably won't even be able to tweak it much either. It's going to be aimed more at web based apps too, being that they are targeting the Netbook market it'll just be a slightly more capable version of Android but not a full on powerful OS to tackle Windows, OS X nor full Linux versions like Ubuntu.......

Ubuntu was the best one of the bunch. The problem was and still is that gamers, dont have a choice. I hate Windows Vista. XP was by far, the best release yet, followed by Win98 SE. After that, theyre either shit (Win Me) or not for home use (win 2000); I also want to see if this comes to fruition. If Firefox ever made an OS on x86 builds, I'd be happy as shit.

Seriously speaking, I don't think Google OS will beat MS Windows 7, Under the hood Windows 7 is still vista, yes I know that.

But look at the way it has improved over the previous Vista's....

W7's hardware support is amazing....any one tried the latest RC1 release?

When it comes to browsers I daily use Chrome......2nd choice is Firefox.........IE? nevvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvver!!

I use Chrome all the time now for normal browsing too it just seems to run more efficiently, the exact same reason I started using Google way back when. For smaller devices like a mobile phone or netbook I'm sure that Google will do well, Windows is always into Bloatware. I still use firefox too when I'm going into uncharted territory or ad heavy sites and want the better security/ad-blocking and other little tools they offer but it is just too bogged down with all the extensions I have on it but they serve a purpose.........I don't think Google thinks it will have a chance in the normal PC market so Chrome OS will be a slightly more powerful Android....
