What is up everyone? I doubt you guys remember me, but I just found this forum again because of e-mail. I don't know where it went, but the other url that it used to be out didn't work anymore so I thought it died, but here it is.

If you don't remember me, I am a 15 year old guy trying to improve my strength for sports and just for overall being in good shape. I've been lifting for maybe a year and a half now, but haven't really been going much until I started football which was the beginning of the school year. Glad to be back in the community.

Now the question I have is that lately when I'm watching TV, all I seem to see are these commercials for FastAbs or like AbEnergizer etc. My question is, do these products really work? I've looked them up on the internet, and I've heard mixed reviews about them some saying they work, but they are built in low quality so they don't last long. Has anyone purchased any of these before? and if so which one and do they work?

Another question is that I want to have a "home gym" for when I am too lazy to go to the local gym after school. The only product that I have really only looked at was the Bowflex's. I have heard that these machines work only for losing weight or something like that, and does not show the results. I don't know if this is true, but if you guys could clear this up, and then help me out on what I should purchase I would appreciate it. I have a budget of around $300, and in May, I'll be 16 so I will get more money.

Once again, I'm glad to be back.

The name says it all - FastAbs - NO SUCH THING.

There is a thread somewhere about the bowflex - short recap - never heard anything really BAD about them - just make sure the tension stays consistent and the stick thingys don't loose their tension.

:)

Welcome back.

Selamat Datang TheStuff,

If I were you and had the room, I'd invest in some real weights before I'd put it down on a bowflex. ($$) I think you'd be somewhat satisfied with a bowflex for a little while, but then you'd see potential in your body for more. Your bowflex would then become inadequate, and it would end up somewhere collecting dust.

All this is just a guess or opinion. I wouldn't be satisfied with the bowflex. Too many limitations.

Yes, that was the thing about the bowflex, they are very expensive for a piece of equipment like that. I often go to a gym after soccer practice to lift for atleast an hour, it's free since I'm going to a high school gym, but I don't go to that high school, so if I get caught then I'll probably be kicked out. I don't think I have enough room to have a "weight set" in my room, we have a three car garage with the 3rd one open, maybe that is enough room, but I would not know what to buy with all the different weights, and machines. I got weights for christmas when I was 13, but the heaviest was only 10lbs, and I grew out of that very quickly, and I don't want to do that, where I have to keep buying more weights and then more, etc. Anymore suggestions would be helpful, thanks.

The url I was using was like the first one they were using, it was like extreamforums.com or something like that. I can't remember it, I just know that I tried a while ago, and it didn't work anymore, so I deleted the bookmark.

ahhh....yes, Xtreme-forums.com, yes I only had that enabled for a few months after the site moved to IronMagazine.com.

This site will not die, we're here for good kids, so spread the word! :D
