About a year ago I was really skinny fat, and I knew i wanted to gain muscle. I was starting to bulk up despite not knowing at all what I was doing in terms of eating, logging and weight lifting. I went from 150lbs (skinny fat), to 172lbs and I was starting to get bulky. So I decided i wanted to cut for the 10 weeks leading to summer (and my vacation). So im 5 weeks in, and ive cut my calories by 500 (a day). Im getting more than enough protein (around 180 or more G per day), and my fats are typically between 25-60 (depending on high/low carb days). As far as carbs go, I started by just staying around the 160-200 g mark. Then I started cycling. I tried the 3 day low carb (fiberous), 3 day high carb (starch). I saw some good from this, but reguardless of any of it. Im once again getting very skinny 'fat'.

When I checked 3 or 4 weeks ago I was at 12% body fat (158 lbs). right now as of this morning im at 154 lbs, and my guess is im around 10% BF or so. Ive been told im getting really skinny by friends and family. If I was getting defined id be fine with that, but Im not getting the abs or "tone" that I was shooting for. And Im kind of nervous to bulk back up so soon before summer. As recent as last week I was doing a 6 day weight lifting program, with 0 cardio. Ive taken the past 3 days off, and hitting the gym this week im going on a 4 day plan because people here thought I was definatly overtraining. Im still skeptikal on cardio because I really do not want to lose any more weight., I do want to define a lot better than I have been.

Will I still be able to reach some decent goals (albeit slowly) if I eat my maintence every day to maintain weight, but (in reality) by working out 4 days a week ill be in a deficiet. I feel like ive lost any muscle i did put on, and even more because im starting to feel like a twig. I can even feel it in my weight lifting because I cant lift nearly as much as I could 3-4 months ago. My arms are getting slightly more defined, but thats really the only thing ive noticed other than my ribs being clearly visable.
