Hey all, well...This is kind of my introduction post..I've owned my busienss the last few years, but some of my products are being banned soon so it's time to find a new business..I've always lvoed working out, I see the demand for the products...So I'm interested in opening my own store, I plan to be a retail store offering great prices..Hopefully it gets me somewhere

Thing is, I'm not trying to offer the things you DON'T want at a good price..I'd be so grateful if maybe some of you folks could give me a list of popular supplements, your personal favorites?

I USED to use No explode (I have severe anxiety, taking any kind of stimulant make me nuts) and i've tried the others, see my friends use them and I'd love to offer them. My question is

What are the best selling/popular proteins?
workout powders?
mean replacements?
protein bars?

Any other products I should consider carrying?

I'm new to the whole game..So I'd willing to listen to someone. And hey, I promise once things get set up I'll remember you folks and set you up witha coupon code like my other site :)

Anyway, hope some folks can help me out..I really would love to get into this business and offer some great retail prices, just let me know what to carry!!:)

Best thing to do would be to go to bodybuilding.com and nutraplanet.com and view their top products. Those are what sell

I have had friends that open stores. However it is very tricky because there is not much of a markup on this stuff.

Is he thinking online store or like a GNC type store?

I always wonder why stuff is wayyyy more at local stores than online stores. I dont get it

I'm thinking of offering a wide range of products online. I don't see a point in paying 1200 a month for office space to sell a product I have no clients for, so online is it for now :)

As for your question, the reason is because store owners know you folks hate waiting for shipping, so if you want something conveniant they make ya pay.

I want to offer the products you see at GMC for the online price. I also plan to offer aging products, sleeping products, and peptide hormones as well...I'm planning on offering a wide variety, issue is I need to know what sells. I can get my hands on anything, it's just the demand for it that I want to know is there.

I wouldnt sell peptides on the same website as dietary supplements

I would do some market research bud. I don't think you really know what you're getting yourself into.

Massively competitive market, already a lot of established competitors as well as countless smaller distributors such as yourself. People are quite funny about buying supps as well, the PEOD is lower than you would expect. You'll probably need quite a lot of capital to start, along with monthly advertisements on a number of different boards, it'll add up.

Just giving you a heads up, you may well be a shit-hot businessman just getting into something new, which is good because you'll need to be to make this work.

As I said, I'm new to the game (not the business world) I'm obviously not talking about doing this with 5000...I'm still getting the profits off my other business, I'm just in the process of doing research before I get into anything. So no common knowledge products I should carry? What are the no brainers that will surely sell? Just curious if anyone has any they'd like to personaly add..YES I'm doing research, so please save the "do some research" comments..I enjoy doing research along with some personal input.. I enjoy the few posts so far...

Legal issues?

Renting a store where I live starts at $3500 a month. That's why in store products are higher priced, gotta keep the lights on. I don't think I'll ever switch from online to an actual store, too much overhead cost. Just my 2 cents

Muscle Gelz Transdermals
IronMag Labs Prohormones
Prob only need about $75,000-100,000 to get a good site up and be fully stocked, pay for advertising, etc. Stuff adds up really fast. O, and don't forget Obama loves to tax the ass end off small businesses...gotta love him :shooter:

The only thing for sure about the president speech today was taxes are goin up.. ITS THE AMERCIAN DREAM:nail:

The most popular stuff is usually the stuff on sale .... MYOfusion has the best tasting protein to me . The only other supplements i take is Bcaa powder, usually x-tend and currently taking body morter..

Yup. What I don't understand is why he keeps dishing out money to foreign countries when we have no money as it is. Obama needs to take a finance class

Years from now, I think many Americans will indeed see the internet for the gold mine it is. To think, there are people paying EXACTLY what you said making less than a guy running a website in his own home. A web business is the only way to go, IMO. The only thing that sucks about it is sometimes it gives me too much free time, a shop wouldn't.

What about vitamins, anti aginig products, energy drinks and that kind of stuff? any kind of big known sellers?

These are your money makers and the companies do most of the advertising for you, don't forget BSN, Mucle Farm and Gaspari.
