Hi all, I'm new here (obviously), I'm 23 and from England. After years of half hearted efforts to get myself in shape I am turning over a new leaf and getting a proper diet and routine together. Hope you guys can give me some tips along the way... :D

I'm working out at home at the moment because I can't afford the gym (or find the time to go), I have dumbells and barbells for working my biceps, I'm doing sit ups 3 times a week for my stomach and press ups for my triceps. This all works well cause I've only got a little appartment but I really want to work on my pecs some cause they are non-existent whilst the rest of my upper body muscle/strength is improving rapidly.

Unfortunately I do not have room for a bench and therefore cannot do benchpresses, is there any other way to build my chest muscles? I have read some other threads on this and I think I might also find it hard to build them because I don't really feel they exist and therefore when doing press ups (for example) use only my triceps...

Cheers in advance for helping me with my first question...

Welcome aboard!

I used to put two chairs together, so I could just rest my back on the seats, and do flies and db presses for chest...Pushups and bodyweigh dips could work as well.

Dumbbell Flyes are are great for the pecs.

If you know someone who has the skills, maybe you could pay him to build a collapsible bench. Only ask someone who knows what they are doing. You don't want some schmuck to build you one that will...well...collapse on you.

That made a crapload of sense.

;)

Cheers guys (maybe I'll have a go at a 'collapsible' bench myself - haha), couple of other quick questions - what is a 'bodyweight dip'? and I've been doing press ups for some years but have never noticed any change in my chest - what am I doing wrong?
