Is cod liver oil the same as fish oil?

I went the pathmark and asked for fish oil, and i was given "cod liver oil"
It says nothing about omega3 anywhere on the bottle, but it says it has dones of vitamin d/a on the back...
is this the same as a traditional fishoil? Will i be getting in my omega 3 fatty acids?

no you need to worry about Vit A and D with Cod liver oil.

You shouldn't take cod liver oil unless you live in cold climate. Many people will switch back and forth and in the winter use Cod liver oil and summer fish oil. Personally, I just stick with Fish oil year round.

Agreed. Unless you are deficient in Vit D then stick with Fish oils.
