Is it ok to link to your website on these forums?

I know that most forums dont allow linking to your website, or even worse disable HTML altogether.

I see so many sigs here with text links, or even banner to outside sites. Is it cool if I link to my buddy's site in the sig?

If you run it by the admin he is typically cool about it.

I will do that. What kind? Its in my sig, basically supplements for bodybuilding, weight loss...all that. Thats where I buy my stuff from. He also let me give away a 5% off code to users in this forum, which is cool.
