I weigh 195 pounds, 5'10. 20 years old.

I never paid attention to my macros until now. I added it all up.

-105g of protein
-30g fat
-160g of carbs!

I still have been losing weight greatly so far, so I am surprised I have been seeing results with all of them carbs I've been eating lol.
Here is my new macro plan:

-209 grams of protein,
-68 grams of carbs
-60g grams of fat.

what do you think of the new macros compared to the old? Seems a lot healthier to me, again this is for a cut. thank you

still pretty damn low on the Calories consumed at only about 1700 a day.

I'd up the fats, if you want the carbs that low.

You're 195? I don't know if you really need to cut the carbs THAT much! Just change the types of carbs you eat... Eat a lot of fibrous carbs with your diet.

Personally I use a 40-30-30 protein-carb-fat macronutrient ratio when I cut and it's worked great for me. No need to go less than 30% on the carbs.

When I was cutting some weight I have went as low as 10% Carbs. No two people are the same, and different things effect different people. I have also lost weight with 40% carbs so it has a lot to do with the carb source itself. I suggest sticking with what your doing if your still losing and seeing the results your wanting. I mean geez. I have seen guys go way lower calories daily. I mean it's not healthy for your muscle mass or metabolism ,but it's really what you want more; weight loss or muscle retained? Calories in compared to calories burned, 1g Protein ATLEAST per lb of lean body mass. Experiment with your body.

I agree. Fats are crucial on a cut. Not only will they help maintain a healthy hormonal profile but they'll promote satiety, which on a deficit like you're proposing will be much-welcomed.

1,700 is extremely low. I cut at 195 lbs - 12% BF with 2,700. Even that was an aggressive deficit when exercise was factored in. If you plan on running 1,700 I hope you're planning on very frequent refeeds.

Unless you're planning on some of the more extreme approaches like keto or UD2, you might feel more comfortable carb-cycling. That's how I cut, and it felt very good. Plan no-carb days (aside from your veges and greens, and milk if you're not willing to give it up...I allowed 2 cups a day...only 22g lactose, which isn't much), low-carb days (i.e. 100g or less) in conjuction with training days, and then refeeds to bring your leptin levels back to normal. You can't run a deficit for too long before your body figures out what you're doing.

Do you know what your maintenance calories are? What's your BF? Unless you have a very high BF, you might be better off increasing protein a bit. Suggested 1-1.5g per pound LBM, and on a cut you're best to go on the high end of that.
