Is this over training?

I always worry that I am over training sometimes. Here is what I did last night for shoulders...

Seated One Arm Lateral Raises 25x8, 30x6, 35x6
Arnold Presses 40x8, 45x8, 55x6
Standing Front Raises 25x8, 30x8, 35x6
Dumbell Shrugs 75x14, 80x12, 85x8

I also did a little ab work too. I'm not sure if that is too much as I had the energy, but am i doingharm trying to do good?

maybe im looking at it wrong thats 40 reps x 8 sets ?
 
one workout won't cause over training.

What intensity is that workout at?

no that dont look like overtraining. 9sets for shoulders isnt bad. but i'd do it like this:

arnold presses
shrugs
and then superset lateral raises and front raises.
 
Too much isolation, why dont you just do 3 sets of 2 different types of overhead presses(Military Presses, and DB Shoulder Press)?
And one more thing shrugs don't work the shoulders, they work the traps.
If you are training bodyparts, you should look into the stickies and get yourself a real routine.
 
My deltoid workout consists of 4 sets of DB or military press 2x a week and that's it....
 
Looks like a pretty good workout for juiced individuals. If youre not on anything, then I dont think you should be doing that amount of work for a muscle thats not much bigger than an orange.

The front delt is about the size of your index and ring finger. Isolating such a small muscle seems silly when it gets so much work with pushing movements.
 
I highly doubt it. It's pretty hard to overtrain yourself as a result of isoltion work. Plus, as Ian said, overtraining won't happen as a result of one workout. Overtraining is a result of a chronic state of inadequate recovery. Smaller bouts are known as overreaching, which can be beneficial if implemented into a training program properly.
 
Yea his CNS won't become overtrained, but the extra exercises are useless, and are not going to do anything for him.
