Joe Weider R.I.P.

Muscle Gelz Transdermals

Weider was the Jim McMahon of body building and that's not a compliment. I guess if you were in that top .1% who Weider wanted to win (and ultimately stacked the deck so you could win) so he could make money off of you, then Weider was probably an asset. I have zero respect for the guy and feel Weider is one of the reasons why body building never went mainstream.

Does anyone know why he was in a wheelchair the last few years of pics that are posted? Such a huge loss

"For over 70 years he preached that a bodybuilding lifestyle was a healthy pursuit for everyone", and yes, I listened! Thanks for introducing me to the fountain of youth, for that I will remain forever grateful.

Bodybuilding never went mainstream because many in the 'mainstream' find the appearance of a modern day pro bodybuilder disgusting.
They cannot relate to it and want no part of it.
That and many in the 'mainstream' have moral objections to the illegal drug abuse that is a part of modern bodybuilding.
Those are probably part of the reasons that ESPN no longer broadcasts to the 'mainstream', shows like "American Muscle" or broadcasts bodybuilding comps.

The ' mainstream' can relate to looking like the appearance of someone on the cover of Men's Health mag.
Lean with a 6 pack and defined developed muscle but not at the level of extreme drug induced muscular development.
