jump ropes - advice on types pls

I'm planning to buy a jump-rope for short/intense weekend cardio sessions in my heated garage (versus running on Ohio's frozen streets!) but there are several types; some have beads, some are weighted, some are leather, some are speed ropes.

I don't know anything about jump-ropes. The last time I jumped a rope I was 8.

Any advice?
