I have a wrt54g ver6 that I bricked and unbricked twice and now have running on factory default till I get the energy to try again.

It was a major pain in the ass trying to do my v.6. I tried for a few days, then said fuck it, and carried it back. I then ordered the wrt54gs from newegg, and got it right on the first try.

after 1 week of hard work I finally fixed my router, YAY!! I kept hard resseting, and eventually I was able to access my router settings again, but I still had the same problems of not being able to access the internet... So I said forget dd-wrt, I will just go back to the official firmware.. But When I tried to upgrade, it would say incorrect image file or upgrade failed... so I did some reading and found out I had to hex-edit the sum-bitch (I dun even know what that means, but I just googled it, and found one, than I used it to delete "8 bytes before HDR0".. So than I was able to get back to official firmware... but I still had the same problems of not connecting.. so I got the cd and installed the router over again.. everything is good now, I think the problem was is I just didn't know how to set up the settings in dd-wrt.. it is too complicated for me.. I am a noob so I must stay on official firmware :) I am happy with it, I don't know why I went to DD-wrt in the first place.. I was just bored :/ ... phew.

You need to understand thta what you did is a part of the learning process. Most of what I know about computers came from me being bored and trying to do somethign that I didn't know how to do. Sometimes I fucked my computer up, but thats the cost of knowledge. I wouldn't give up, hell you know how to fix your router now, so next time it won't be so bad.
