But I have noticed body building and fitness comps seem to be dminated by older more season athletes?!?!

Vida Gueara 38 and just making waves now:
Vida Guerra Training - YouTube

Kai Greene 38 ( just came back after long layoff about 3 years ago and arrived with a bang!

Jay Cutler been arounf for a long time, but in reality did not make true Breakthroughs till 2-3 years ago

And then the Xman Tony Freeman, much like Kai but is 47!!!

any thoughts as to why?

wow she doesnt look anywhere near 38!

A lot of it has to do with muscle maturity and building that deep, grainy muscle. Lots of younger guys get big, but when they diet down they don't have that thick, dense muscle that comes from time. Evan Centopani is a great example, he is big as a tank, when he diets down though he loses some thickness in my opinion. Compare him to Jay or Branch Warren, they still look thick as hell.

Again, that's just my opinion.

sorry shes 37 , and no kidding :-) shes awsome

I was honestly thinking drug choices, and diet choices.
it takes a long time to really figure out how to peak all the time.
Diet being the most important........

Troy Alves is a great example, he is not particularly a hard trainer, more of a smart one, but its clear to me he figured out EXACTLY what to take and what to Eat to look consistently shredded at every show even though hes in his 40's.............I have seen him in his 30's and he was not very impressive

And that is part of it as well, a big part. With experience comes wisdom, and at a certain age your focus becomes a bit sharper I think. I know when I started training seriously, it was all I thought about. But I also had an established career and wasn't out every night chasing tail. Young guys have so much going on, and I don't blame them for wanting to do other things besides eat, train, sleep. My first 5 years, I don't think I missed a meal or a training session I was that focused. But in my youth, no way that would have ever happened. Its just the way things are. Young guys that are focused are an inspiration, I respect them.
