EVERY time i do squats its always my first set it happens, ill go down and typically itll happen to my right knee but my left somtimes too, ill get an intense shooting pain and my knee will buckle a bit, but ill work through it and finish out hte set, i don't get it on any other excerise

My last squat session on my first rep of the day 135lb sharp pain in my left knee, recovered for a full 10 set...

few sets later on a heavier weight i beleive 185 or 195 2nd or 3rd rep my right knee got the pain and it buckled and i almsot went down.

it happens EVERY time i squat... should i just keep the weight low? or am i doing somthing wrong? my work out partner says my form is good , my legs are a bit past should length i squat all the way down, i thrust my hips forward on the up and use the back of the foot to drive into the ground, back straight and tight head up, if you think it has to do with form ill maybe post a video of a full set, but its not like its later in the set where my form will slightly fall off a bit from fatigue its always early on.

post a vid. Are you knees and toes pointing in the same line. i.e. toes NOT pointing straight ahead.??

You just answered your own question. Do you warm up at all? After a proper warm up your joints and ligaments are warmed and mobile with a healthy amount of blood flow. Or it could be something physical. Your tendons, ligaments or meniscus could be jacked up.

As mentioned you need to warm up! Get the search button fired up and look for, in the training forum, Mark Rippetoe on the deep squat

His warmup advise is outrages, but how can you argue with the beast :winkfinger:

I would have posted a link but my post count........

I have arthritis so all of my joints bother me when lifting. For me it helps when I stretch then hit the bike for 10 mins to get warmed up. I'd suggest visiting your doc first, just to be on the safe side. I ignored joint pains for years and I'm paying for it now, and I'm only 31 so take it from me, get it checked out.
