Lance Armstrong Will No Longer Fight Steroid and PED Accusations
by Millard Baker ~ source

Seven-time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong has given up the fight to defend himself against accusations of anabolic steroid and performance-enhancing drug (PED) use. In a recent interview with Josh Eells of Men???s Journal magazine, Armstrong made no effort to deny using steroids, EPO or any other prohibited PED. He indicated that he will not contest any new charges or investigations involving allegations of doping by the Tour the France champion.

???But no matter what happens, I???m finished. I???m done fighting,??? Armstrong told Eells. ???I???ve moved on. If there are other things that arise, I???m not contesting anything. Case closed.???

Armstrong claimed he will not even fight the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) if they move to strip him of his seven Tour de France titles.
???It doesn???t matter anymore. I don???t run around bragging, feeling like I have to be a seven-time Tour de France champion,??? he answered. ???I worked hard for those, I won seven times and it???s great. But it???s over.???

Armstrong appeared to have come to terms with the possibility that USADA could strike many of his cycling accomplishments if it concludes that Armstrong used banned performance-enhancing drugs or practices.

USADA???s Travis Tygart has promised that his agency will spend as much taxpayer money as it takes to pursue Lance Armstrong.

???Clean athletes and those that value the integrity of sport can rest assured that USADA will leave no stone unturned to obtain the evidence to reveal the truth, whatever that truth may be in our investigation of the doping allegations in the sport of cycling,??? said Tygart in an interview with Cyclingnews.com.

Armstrong???s remarks are uncharacteristic. The retired professional cyclist has aggressively defended himself against doping allegations during his career and during the federal government???s investigation of Armstrong and the USPS pro cycling team. He has gained a reputation for the ruthless attacks on the credibility of former teammates who have accused him of using steroids and/or performance-enhancing drugs.

Why has Lance Armstrong, who has not given up fighting anything, decided to stop fighting?

This is what our tax dollars get wasted on. :jerkit:

The general public is so stupid. Let's demoniZe steroids and ignore the real problems.

while i agree... this is only the USADA looking into this, it's kinda their job.

It's not like it's the federal government or the fda or anything crazy like that

All I know is, every source on these forums could donate ALL their resources to administering every single member on here with as high a volume of AAS, HGH, and EPO that our bodies could possibly support, along with as many ancillaries as one could imagine. And yet still NOBODY HERE would be capable of winning a SINGLE major cycling event, let alone the Tour de France SEVEN TIMES.

Armstrong earned it. He also probably used EPO. So what? A vast majority of his competitors trained at high altitudes to achieve the same basic effect on their RBC, and they couldn't beat Armstrong. And why? Because he's the greatest goddamn cyclist ever, end of story.

Great post sir!

There are no other problems more important than people using drugs to make them healthier, happier and better athletes :)

That doesn't piss me off as much as the anti-intellectualism of it all. The FDA, DEA, and American Medical Association ALL testified before Congress telling them NOT to ban steroids. And yet Congress, who are legislators and haven't worked a day of their lives in a professional medical setting, decided their personal reactionary opinions were more relevant. THAT pisses me off. There are goddamn CHILDREN who are harming their bodies right this moment by abusing AAS, because our government treats drug abuse as a crime and not a health concern, making proper information VERY difficult to find for those who don't know where to look. We have kids who just want to smoke with their friends on the weekend, but because marijuana is illegal, they have to meet a DRUG DEALER just to do it! Now they're introduced to deadly substances through a drug dealer whom they never would have met had marijuana been decriminalized and regulated.

I can't even talk about this goddamned insanity, it just drives me so fucking nuts. You know, I actually believe in the power of a motivated, passionate legislature that wants to make a difference in their constituents' lives. But that's not what we have. We have assholes who pander to the constituency while serving the interests of the nearest lobbyist in order to finance their re-election effort. This is why the U.S. is ranked 37th worldwide for health care. This is why our public school system has become an international joke. This is why our average life expectancy is remaining stagnant while other countries have moved into the 80s, and are well on their way to hitting 90. We're happy to spend $845B on a war effort in Iraq, while mindless tax cuts cost the fed $2.5 TRILLION in lost revenue over just 10 years (paid for with YOUR social security money; a $2.5T surplus that no longer exists!), but god forbid we spend even a little bit of money on the common man. No, just lock him up instead so he can become part of the 3/4 of our prison population comprised of non-violent drug offenders who bought something to get high, or to improve his fucking bench press.

It just drives me up a wall, I can't even talk about it. Fuck all these assholes, and fuck their bureaucratic perpetual campaign bullshit. I'll be at the gym.

FTG sir....

I don't hate our government nearly as much as I hate these retarded voters. In 2010, Congress's average approval rating for the full year was 19%, at one point dipping as low as 13%. So Americans hated, on average, 81% of their representatives in Congress. Yet in November of 2010, when it was time for Americans to vote ... they re-elected 84% of incumbent candidates. Seriously. These people are imbeciles.

Took the words out of my mouth! Someone needs to take all of Travis Tygarts income, savings, retirement away from him! Make him think twice about how he spends OUR money! Fucking bastard! We don't give a shit if Armstrong took juice, most of the other cyclists did too.. they just didn't put in the work to go along with the juice!
