I'm in the process of reforming my workout, and I'm doing legs on Mondays/Thursdays. On Monday I'm planning to do ATG squats, lunges, and calf raises. Is it a bad idea to do lunges (walking lunges) after doing ATG squats? My leg routine looks as follows:
Monday - More intense
ATG Squats (4X10,8,6,6) with 1-2 minute rest intervals
Walking Lunges (3X8,8,6) with 1-2 minute rest intervals
Calf raises (4X10,8,6,6) with 1-2 minute rest intervals
Intensity wise, the ATG squats are going to be the maximum intensity per given set, yet not allowing failure until maybe the last 2 reps of the last set.
Thursday - Less intense (except DLs)
Deadlifts (4X10,8,6,6) with 2 minute rest intervals
Leg extensions (3X8,8,6) with 1-2 minute rest intervals
Calf Raises (4X10) with 1-2 minute rest intervals
**I split up the Squats and DLs because that was advice I received from you guys in the past. My upper body workouts are pitcher-friendly doing weighted pushups/pullups, t-bar rows, hang cleans, and light DB shoulder exercises. Wednesday is of course OFF, and Saturdays I pitch while being OFF on Sunday.
Let me know guys, thanks.
