leg pain

I have been experiencing severe pain sorness in my calves and shins when I run. I've iced, and stopped running for weeks on end 4 weeks is the longest...but the pain always comes back during the second run back. I don't know what to do...any advice would be great
 
soft tissue work
flexibility work
have some evaluate your gait
look at your training program to make sure you aren't doing to much running to quickly
look at your warm up
 
what would u suggest as a warm up? walk for 2-3 minutes and then run? I mean this pain lasts for at least a week after a single mile run.
 
go to the doctor.

if it is that bad and lingers taht long from 1 mile....you need someone to check it out.

Real quick though, do you have any idea what the problem could be?
 
could be any number of things.....exertional compartment sydrome, shin splints, stress fracture.....who knows? You need someone to look at you in person.
