Hello,

I am wondering if legumes (beans) such as pinto, fat free refried beans, black beans, garbanzo beans, and the like, are all these a good source of protein and fiber along with a good source of carbohydrate? It seems that beans are an all around great weight loss food source.

I usually mix fat free refied beans with brown rice and a little salsa and a good source of fat (oil) all together, and then I will have a little cottage cheese just to get a little more protein to make a good ratio.

Does this sound like a good meal? Are beans a good source for losing weight? Do they have plenty of vitamines and nutrition?

Thanks for your help!

Aaron

I eat heaps of legumes

there was some shit about them not being a complete protein source.. but for me it didnt matter, as i was mixing them with other forms of protein, eg eggs, fish, chicken etc

They are full of fibre and cheap as fuck

whatever, just make sure they fit into your caloric requirements

Yeah, if they fit into your macros.

But I find it difficult to fit into my macros, as they have so much starch.

If you are seeing good results, great. If not, you may want to switch to leaner and more efficient protein sources.
