Lesnar vs Overeem fight video

"offered"....and that was more than the bashers were doing

and i never said that a smaller guy couldnt beat a bigger guy....a bigger dude with skills will beat a smaller dude with skills period

ive known plenty of big dudes who couldnt throw/take a decent punch to save there life

Train in nothing but boxing get your "striking" perfect...and then go train mma...most mma strikers are sloppy at best... Again...liddell is the best known boxer....and he was awful

SILVA IS THE EXCEPTION TO THAT RULE

totally disagree here. Overeem is a K1 champion. He has the best striking pedigree to ever enter the heavyweight octagon. Even with that pedigree I seriously doubt his ability to beat Dos Santos (also an excellent stand up fighter) or a Cain Velasquez in the cage.

3oz gloves change the type of boxing you can do, and what moves are effective compared to the 10 oz gloves boxers use in the ring.

In my opinion the best boxer in MMA is BJ Penn. His conditioning sucks recently. He's lost fights recently because of his conditioning, but on skill alone he could box in real life if he had dedicated himself to that sport. Look at the first round of his fight with Nick Diaz. BJ Penn put on a total boxing clinic against Nick Diaz with head movement and countering. It was seriously beautiful to watch until Nick's superior conditioning and volume punching took over the fight in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. The reason people complain that MMA fighters have sloppy stand up is that MMA requires a different form of stand up than boxing or Muay Thai. If you shoulder roll in MMA you are going to get taken down, kneed, or kicked in the head. Anyone who takes a traditional boxing stance in an MMA cage will get taken down immediately, or get leg kicked until they can't walk.

I stand traditional and strong side forward(this was cause of bum left shoulder)...as i have said elsewhere in thread....things may be diff for others training mma...ive never had the opp. To train with a similar sized guy...they were all like 175(justr ran away, ran some more)....biggest(musclewise)was my uncle who was only 200 pounds....some reg fat dudes around 240 but they were the easiest to fight of all....no one there could take me off my feet...and there were champions there at 175-180

No one is arguing this point.
*you said a 155 lb guy couldn't be called a man.
*you said a 155lb guy couldn't take a jab from a 'decent sized' guy.
* You've said that they would never be able to take down bigger guys such as yourself.

All of these statements are false. Both of those guys are complete animals with skills in all the disciplines necessary to be elite MMA fighters and would whip the shit out of larger guys. even larger guys with MMA training who have made it to the larger regional shows. Hell even better. If Frankie Edgar who is the reigning 155lb champion. a guy who doesn't cut weight and Dana White has even said should drop down to 145lbs was to fight a KJ Noons type fighter my money would be on Frankie Edgar. KJ Noons fights at 170lbs and has fought professional boxing matches. My money would still be on the smaller guy.

Floyd Mayweather JR at 154lbs is in my opinion the most skilled boxer currently active fighting. Maybe best 3 of all time. best defensive fighter i've ever seen. Knock out power and amazingly gifted and hard working. If he was to get into the MMA cage with any of the 135lb guys we have in the UFC he wouldn't make it out of the first round.

^^^^this.

Dominick Cruz is a good friend of mine, and even though I out weighed him by A LOT, he was still a pain in the ass to sparr with.

I admit my first comments were biased

just like what i like

people dont like him but mayweather is incredible...too bad hes so rich...i think hed be a better trainer than fighter one day

I hate him because he an ignorant punk ass. I hate him because he perpetuates racial biases in America. I respect his skill and talent as a boxer. I admire his fluidity and speed in the ring. I think his uncle is doing a disservice to boxing as a sport only training Floyd Jr. His uncle should go down as one of the greatest trainers of all time and is on par with Freddie Roach. I think Roger Mayweather should have a stable of talent he trains just like Roach. Boxing is a dying sport and it sucks because I love boxing.

Cruz is freaking amazing. can't wait to see him as a coach on TUF next season. awesome.

a 150 pound man couldnt even tae a single jab from a decent sized man

its was pathetic watching that diaz dude do his tough guy act before the fight

lmao at 150 pound "man"

why dont u come to stockton CA and say that buddy.. ive trained with nick and nate several times and i promise u any of them would run circles around you

Holy shit now everyone has trained with these ufc guys...and yeah...id say my opinion to neone...you grow out of that whole fear thing growing up like i did

i didnt even watch that fight...the dude was pacing around...looking mean....smacking himself...and then immediately grabbed the dude around his waist and hung on for 20 seconds...i was disgusted and turned it off...app i missed out

His last fight was fucking badass.
He looks small on-camera, but he's actually pretty big.

course he looks small on camera. he is short, and he has to cut weight to 135lbs. Plus when he is in the cage he is standing next to guys who are short like him, or Joe Rogan, or one of the refs most of which are bigger guys. Hell Joe Rogan looked like a fucking child next to Overeem and Lesnar.

Best thing about UFC fighters is that there are so many of them and they train out of local gyms. It's not hard to get access to them for sparing and things like it is pro boxers, or other pro athletes. If someone was to get on here and say they regularly have shoot arounds with Lebron James, or Kobe Bryant I'd be more apt to call bull shit, but with UFC fighters it's kind of different. they are much more accessible than other athletes.

I've already said what gym i train at. costs me $50 a month to train at the same location as Court McGee, Johnathan Brookins, Ramsey Nijem, and Steven Siler. all UFC fighters who competed on the TUF show.

Kobe trains at my gym, we played a round of horse the other day. I almost beat him.

I was so excited for the fight, we hosted it and it sucked. UFC 140 was kick ass, but not 141, IMO. I guess they all can't be winners.

I agree. I hate the sob and I hope he loses, but he is very talented. Floyd has tremendous ability. He is a punk, but you can not deny his talent. Great defensive fighter. Can't stand the fucker because he has no respect for his ability. Most fighters would kill for what he has, and he treats as if it was nothing. What a bum.
