Im trying to get back in shape after my surgery and have to drop weight for football. To Be quite honest i have never been in this situation. I have always been blessed and played football and stayed in excellent shape. But becase of recent developtments to where i couldnt walk for a year and am now up 90lbs. I cant seek advice from our team nutritionist as i am technically not on the team right now. Any help would be appreciated

Start with fitday.com

Post up macros/total calories.

Basic rule of thumb to start:
Protein @ 1 to 1.5 gram per lb body weight
Fats @ .5 gram per lb body weight
Carbs are non-essential so they can be adjusted up or down for your activity level and fat loss goals.

Resistance training is going to help things along much faster.

Yeah. I was gonna run 50/40/10

I thought protein was 1-1.5 grams per pound of lean body mass? correct me if I'm wrong.
Honestly to build muscle you need .8 grams of protein per american pound of body weight. I am not sure how people come up with their figures except for maybe confusion. Most established scientific research and facts say to build muscle you need around 1.5 grams of protein per kilogram (2.2 american pounds) of body weight not pound. That formula already includes the rate of absorption of protein so i guess people are going by the more is better philosophy. Only thing i can think of
