Okay, first off what I want to clear up is I am NOT talking about just trying to eat healthy and practice good portion control and get in hotel workouts. That is really NOT that difficult.

I am specifically asking people who are on a very strict/precise cutting pre-contest diet where all your food is meticulously measured and meals come at specific times during the day, etc - how do you maintain this level of discipline while travelling?

I am specifically talking about when it gets difficult to drop into single digit bodyfat and if even one part of your plan goes awry then it can mess up your fat loss.

How does this work? I have reached the point in my cutting diet where EVERYTHING has to be meticulously controlled for me to see continuing results...and it is simply not feasible or desirable to be able to maintain this level of control while travelling when I don't have access to my regular food and I cant control when I will be able to eat or not. I have even found that the time of day that I exercise plays a role in my progress. Sure, getting a workout in every day is possible if you want to *make* time for it, but its not always possible to exercise at the exact same time every day while travelling...

I have been doing well up to this week on my cutting diet but my travel calendar has filled up considerably for the summer starting sooner than I thought it would. I will be travelling somewhere almost every weekend and taking several week long trips over the next three months.

So, how do the experts here do it? Do you simply make it a point not to schedule travel during a "pre-contest" diet? If you have to travel, is there some way to maintain control over your diet and exercise routine that does not call for heroic measures or being anti-social when people want to go out to dinner someplace that doesn't serve meals with a 40/40/20 macronutrient ratio? lol.
