My roommate has a buddhism book, a proverb or whatever the hell they are called says, "Anger should not be avoided, it is energy, and if you can turn it to something positive it can be useful." I am paraphrasing, but it was some shit like that.
I've found lots of useful stuff in books about Buddhism. Check out "The Path To Enlightenment" by the Dalai Lama. Good read!
Buddhism is more a philosophy than religion. I think thats why it doesnt leave a bad taste in my mouth (unintentional alter boy reference) like most religions do.
I always thought of "Religion" as a belief in God, true Buddhists do not believe in God. I was part of a Buddhist cult in Chicago for about a day, before my eyes completely closed I ran away.....
