Having analyzed 2,5 min deaths from 1969 to 2008, Swiss scientists have come to a morbid conclusion that a great number of people die on their birthday or around the date.
The biggest risks are of suicide, heart attacks, strokes and falls.
What scientists can’t agree, though, is the reason. One camp says it’s all ‘coz we eat and drink too much on this day, the other one talks about a placebo effect.
I would have overlooked this piece of news if only a couple days ago wasn’t discussing with my friend the fact that couple of people we both knew had died on their birthdays.
I don’t know what to think: is our birthday statistically the deadliest day of the year, indeed?
