Jay is a big guy!! Met him at a store opening in Charlotte. Nice guy! Had to pay $10 to get his autograph though.

He's gotta make money somehow.. and it's his job so he should be paid for it.

He is a nice guy.

No..

But most other sports figure/stars/celebrities probably make more then Cutler.

Hell.. most computer geeks don't have to take those risks, work as hard (deals, autographs, winnings) and make more.

I wouldn't categorize Jay into the same status..

Ben Affleck.. yeah... shouldn't charge as his primary function is to make movies and money via those methods. But Jay, his job is to pose, be seen, shake hands, represent companies..

And he doesn't always charge. I think it depends on the venue. Maybe they said you can be at this big show, but we're not paying you.. figure it out.

I once had a picture taken with him.. asked him to sign it after I got it developed.. he said just put it in a postage paid envelope and I will. He did.. fast.. just as asked. Didn't charge me a dime.

I think you're under estimating how much a top IFBB pro bb like Jay makes.

contest winnings, endorsement contracts, his weider contract, guest posing and appearances, magazine pictures/features, and various other revenue such as selling vedos, etc....

I am sure he is making 6 figures easy, possibly 7.

Still.. his job.

Autographs, videos, endorsement contracts, guest posing..

All in his job realm.

But if I asked him for directions to the nearest Starbuck's and he wanted $10 for that.. different story.

I was at Olympia last year where Lou was charging for his various photos.

But others were not (Corey Everson).

All depends on your revenue generation streams.

Yes, everyone except actors that I know of. Barry Bonds for instance, two kids asked for his autograph and his response "I aint signin nothin."

man is that typical of Barry! what an asshole!~:yell:

I have never been much of an autograph seeker and I would never pay money for somebody to sign their name for me.

If Jay was selling his pictures and signing them for $10 that is one thing, but if I brought in my own pic of him from a mag or something it would be redicucous for him to ask for $10 to sign it.

Muscle Gelz Transdermals
IronMag Labs Prohormones
It would seem kind of strange, but baseball conventions were always the same, and those guys are getting alot more autograph requests. So not being in Jay's shoes I find it hard to pass judgement, since I dont know what its like.

And from the original poster's comments, that is what we are to assume. So I assume now that you agree with me. $10 for his own picture is one thing.

And my experience was.. I gave him my own pic of him and he did not ask for anything to sign it except that I provide a self-addressed stamped envelope.

so ... as we head to Vegas for the Olympia ... should I look forward to being charged money to have a pic taken with one of these steriod monsters? If so, they can keep their picture. Like Seyone, it will be a cold day in hell before I give someone money to sign their name for me.

Corey Everson didn't..

Most didn't.. the ones that did.. I didn't bother with..

I'd rather just have my own picture then a signed canned photography shoot anyway. Which was free.

I think only Lou at the last Olympia wouldn't let you just take your own picture for free. Everybody else did..

Dorian Yates was selling his picture, but let me stand next to him for a candid shot no $$$

none that I can think if. :)

Tons of athletes do, especially retired Hall of Famers. I used to work for a guy who did baseball card shows. Every show had a few Hall of Famers signing autographs for as much as $100 to sign a bat. I got mine for free because I worked at the shows, but the lines to pay for the autographs always were at least an hour deep.

I got Lee Haney's back in the eighties. I think I had to pay for his picture also. And I've seen lots of guys at baseball card shows charging and like you said, lines are crazy!

I did get a 8 x 10 from Jay, so I'm not sure if he is charging for the pic or autograph. I bet either way, you would pay!
