I often read that you are not supposed to drink milk when on a cutting diet. Why not? I know that milk has lactose, but if you incorporate the lactose as part of your lower carb intake diet then what is the problem! I am currently on a cutting diet and use low fat milk for my protein powder drinks. Is lactose somehow worse than regular sugar?

In moderation it's fine, but if you're trying cut-out sugars, such as a pre-contest diet (bodybuilding), typically you would eliminate milk.
