More Pudzianoski (shoulder routine)

Impressive...

"Now it's...last set, now it's heavy."

Damn, the man is a beast! Explosive!

damn, that was sick....200kg (440lbs) behind the neck jerk!! You have to be so friggin' strong to jerk from behind your neck.

I bet in 5 years his shoulders are completely destroyed.

he seems to be getting stronger and stronger is the scarey thing. Although, Kaz trained like an animal for a long long time and I don't know that he has any severe injuries (I could be wrong though).

and he is beating the hell out of his back, look how he bounces that weight down on his traps, that is crazy and unnecessary.

I predict serious shoulder and back problems in the next 5-10 years if he continues this.

Muscle Gelz Transdermals

actually, that is not bouncing down. that is how you are supposed to do it. you have to bend your knees at impact to absorb the shock otherwise your knees, hips and back take an even worse blow. Not to mention the fact that your shoulders would have to terribly decelerate the weight to just set 200kg down on them. So, he lets it fall and catches it on his back kind of and bends his knees to allow himself to interact with the bar properly.

Good theory, lets see how he is training when he hits 40 ;)

ummm, how about a controlled movement?

you can't control the movement. the weight is way to heavy. he is performing jerks.....he is using his leg drive to get the weight overhead, not pressing it. that is far greater weight then he can press. lowering it behind his neck like that could be severly dangerous. he is working on his explosiveness. there are no controlled movements in strongman contests....it is all about how quickly you can do something and how much strength/power/endurance you can display. it isn't bodybuilding.

the same could be said for any athlete.......look at football players, MLB pitchers, hockey players, olympic athletes, the guys that ski moguls.....they aren't thinking about being 40...they are thinking about NOW. they train for now...for today...not for what they will be like in 10 or 15 years. they are to competitive for that.

Yes they are all like that, and it's sad to see the ones who have destroyed their bodies by 40 or sooner....hope Pudzianoski is making millions so he can relax when he hits 35-40.

ahhh, gotcha, I was not looking at it that way.

I know. I hope so too. Atleast professional american athletes make some serious bank so they can enjoy it (and pay for all the top surguries and therapys that they will need) when they are older and retired.

I agree completely. I'm sure pro bodybuilders have their IRAs and all, but do you think they are overly concerned with 30 years down the road? Hell no! Football players, same deal. They are big kids getting out some aggression and having some fun being young-ish. When they are older, whats left of them will be telling the stories and smiling all the way.

I know one of these people, an old boxer who is in his early 60s who I first met at the gym with a walker. Eventually the walker dissapeared and I found out he was using it because he obliterated his foot jumping off of a waterfall. He lives for the rush, despite his age because he has been that way his entire life. He can't sit still. If you have a few minutes to spare he'll tell you how messed up his shoulders are from years of fighting.

I was impressed - :thumb:

And I do shit like that when I train - :D

(And probably will when I am 40)

"Now is heavy."

On his last set of db shoulder presses he said. "Also, ten reps". Then he did 7. Then may have edited it out when they switch camera angles. Oh well.

Now that's the way I want to train shoulders. Fuck it! If I end up in the hospital in 2 months, you guys will know what it was from.
