I remember listening to his fight with Sunny Liston on our radio with my Dad, Feb 24, 1964 I was 12 didn't really know anything about boxing. Dad could not believe it, he was shocked beyond belief:

I also remember him fighting George Foreman, by then I was 22, old enough to know a little and I just knew Foreman would kill him..That time it was me shocked beyond belief.
It's funny that I remember those so well, but have to think about the Norton fight when Ken Norton broke his jaw and beat him. Norton looked like a body builder, but claimed he never lifted weights or did anything to try and build his physique. Had a weird fighting stance and I think that's why he was able to beat Ali, Ali didn't prepare well for him and his unorthodox style, he was mouthing off all the time and that's why he got his jaw broken, Norton connected while Ali was yapping with his mouth open...
The Frazier fights were so brutal, the last one I think finished both of them. Frazer didn't have anywhere near the talent or physical traits to match Ali, but he had such a deep never give up, never give in ethic that Ali could not break.. it almost killed both of them in Manila.
I doubt we'll ever see anyone to match Ali in ability to fight and talk.. LOL RIP Great One!
