Has anyone used the Muscle Clamp Collars for Olympic Dumbells? Would they be strong enough to hold 3 or 4 ten pound plates on each side? Right now I use the screw down type and then torque them with a box wrench but it takes longer than I would like between sets.
I've had 30+ pounds on each side of each of my DBs before with no problems. Are the threads stripped or something like that, or do the weights take up too much room so it won't screw very far? If so, you might want to buy 25 pound plates for the DBs. They're made for curl bars but it'll fit on the DBs perfectly and that way it screws in a lot so they won't come off. It shouldn't take too long to switch between sets either, but maybe you do your workouts a little differently.
Well I have 4 olympic size dumbell handles I load one pair with a weight and the other pair with a higher weight and do sets and it works fine, but I like to do advanced techniques and would like to get it done faster because right now I feel like I'm on a nascar pitcrew trying to change tires with a wrench it drains my intensity. I noticed these rapid change but I'm wary cause I've had my weights slip before and it wasn't fun.
I know what you mean. They are pricey. What about the regular collars that are used with olympic BB's. You know the ones that you squeeze and slide on. Do they not work well with db's?

They do when they're fresh but after 3 month's they stretch and slip off under weight. I found out the hard way doing military DB presses and the collar had slowly slid an inch and then on my next up move the weights shifted and two 10 pound plates came tumbling onto my dome
My Oly dumbell handles came with collars that have a "T" type handle to tighten down. I recall the collars were like $5.00 each when I needed an extra pair.
