My daily suplements, what do you think?

I am 45 years old, lost a ton of weight in the last year and I am not looking to bulk up at all, just tone my body and lose weight.
Here are the supplements I been taking daily:

Magnesium 400mg
Zinc 65 mg
L-Carnetine 250mg
L-Argenine 500mg
L-Lysine 500mg
Super B-Complex
Vitamin D 5000IU
High Potency Iron 27mg every other day
Am I missing anything?
 
man, looks like overkill . . go with a well-balanced multi . . some extra vitC if you feel you need it.
 
What part of is overkill? I would appreciate some more detail if anyone would care to elaborate.
I thought I needed amino acids, the magnesium and zinc help me with energy. D5000 I like to take in the winter to help avoid the flu.
I read that Super B-Complex helps speed the metabolism. Are there any side effects from taking these supplements?
I am eating about 800-1000 calories less than what my required daily intake.
 
that any can be hard on the old liver.. multi vit will do

what is a good multi to take? many of them are made by Pharma companies and as I understand it use chemicals in them. I prefer a natural supplement.

And who makes the ones you currently take? What is a chemical, and how is it different from the naturally found ones?

NOW foods make a good one for men . . cant comment whether it's natural, however it's certainly not Un-natural :thinking:

A fiber supp?

I've taken Metamucil, Benefiber, and currently have a few tubs of Fiberlyze by Species, their fruit punch flavor.
 
go to a vitamn shoppe, get a whole food multi if your concerned about chemicals, dont be, they have none... vitc is a must also like the previous guys said, aminos you should be getting from your whey, if your eating properly ( brown rice, oats, veggies etc) you will be gettin fiber, fish oil will help you out too for a lot of things, and judging by your board name, you dont really need iron unless you are anemic ( spelling??) men get all the iron they need from food

I'm 43. I keep things as simple as possible. A good diet will cover the majority of your needs. A quality multivitamin is just added protection. Yes, many are sub-par, but with a little research, you can find a good one. I've been taking Stresstabs...and while I'm sure they're not the best, they're working for my current budget.:D
and then, there are those who claim that vitamin supp.'s are not only unnecessary, but detrimental...

I don't absolutely buy into this myself.

Either way, diet first...maybe throw in some fish oil.....but don't get drawn in to all of the suppliment hype.:thumb:

Why the Iron supplement? Let alone high potency Iron.

What are you reasons for those supplements in particular?

The only one I like there is the Vit D
